Biceps

Introduction

The Biceps & Brachioradialis

The biceps consists of a long (outer) and short (inner) head and connects to three joints, the elbow, forearm, and shoulder. The short head of the biceps cannot perform both shoulder and elbow flexion simultaneously.

Therefore a biceps machine or exercise that has your elbows in front of your shoulders mainly trains the long head.

The Peak

There is only so much you can increase the peak of your biceps by growing the long head as the the shape of your biceps is largely genetically determined.
